With the aim of promoting healthy diets and lifestyles, Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Nestlé have partnered to launch more than 40-TV episodes where tips on eating healthy and leading a healthy lifestyle—especially among children—will be shared with the public.
The partnership comes in light of the “Healthy Children 2021”, an initiative supported by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which aims to fight obesity.
As part of the agreement, DHA launched a TV program that will be broadcast on Dubai TV and Sama Dubai where doctors and nutritionists from DHA will share advice on health and nutrition with members of society who strive for leading a healthy lifestyle in the UAE.
Nestlé will contribute to the nutrition content development and production of 40 episodes, which will include health tips for children and cooking healthy meals for parents during the month of Ramadan.
The two-minute episodes will be aired before and after the news segment during the whole month of Ramadan in addition to August and October. H.E Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director General of DHA met today with officials from Nestlé at the authority’s headquarters. During their meeting Al Qatami said the authority has collaborated with companies and organisations through MOUs with the aim of reaching a healthier and happier society— an objective that is shared by both the DHA and its partners including Nestlé. Al Qatami commended Nestlé for supporting children’s health through spreading preventive advice using awareness videos and other awareness campaigns.
Yves Manghardt, Chairman and CEO at Nestlé Middle East, reaffirmed Nestlé’s commitment to support DHA in playing a positive role in society and emphasizing the importance of promoting healthy diets and lifestyles. “We are happy to be part of this new initiative,” he said.
In line with the objective of enforcing a healthy lifestyle and eating habits, Nestlé is also collaborating with DHA in the field of food science and nutrition through participating in scientific conferences, seminars and events.
DHA was instrumental in the kick-off “Nestlé Healthy Kids-Ajyal Salima” school nutrition education program, which aims to impact nutrition knowledge and healthy eating habits in children in Dubai.
DHA also supports “United for Healthier Kids” Movement, that aims to nurture healthier generations by helping parents encourage their children to adopt healthy eating habits and active lifestyle.
